‘When The Zombies Come’ – Documentary on Obsessive Zombie Preppers

Featured at this years Sundance Film Festival, When The Zombies Come documents a group of Ace Hardware store employee’s who obsessively prepare for a zombie apocalypse.  The movie is currently generating a lot of buzz at this years Sundance festival much to the displeasure of Ace Hardware who released the following statement:

“Ace Hardware was not aware that a deplorable video encouraging violent behavior was produced and we did not approve the use of our brand or store in the filming of that video. We are aghast and outraged that these individuals used our nationally recognized brand in this film. This video does not in any way represent Ace Hardware and the thousands of hardworking Ace employees that are knowledgeable, friendly and dedicated to serving Ace customers. We are making every effort to remove this video from all online sources. We greatly value our customers as well as our ‘helpful’ brand image and are deeply offended by the content of this video.”

This looks so interesting to me, unfortunately some people go way too over the top with their preparation although they will have the last laugh if the apocalypse comes in their lifetime.

Count Ace Hardware as being off the zombie band wagon that is sweeping corporate publications and advertisements I guess. I heard a radio spot for Maaco this morning that featured a mention of zombies.
